What's New in MailSite Fusion

Collaboration

Advanced Calendaring

MailSite Fusion provides a range of calendaring options to help organize increasingly busy lives. Calendars can be managed in both MailSite ExpressPro and Microsoft Outlook allowing business users to keep their Outlook calendar in synch while on the road or at home. For those who use a different client, MailSite supports Vista’s Windows Calendar, Google Calendar and Apple iCal. MailSite calendars can also be shared with family, friends and colleagues allowing easy meeting scheduling.
When the calendar information is elsewhere, MailSite Fusion users can keep up to date with their family’s events or the training schedule for their sports club from the calendar interface of their choice. MailSite ExpressPro and Microsoft Outlook can be used to view multiple public calendars on most common systems such as Google calendar and Apple iCal.

  • Manage multiple calendars from one place
  • Outlook and web calendar automatically synchronized
  • Collaborate with Vista, Google and Apple users

Microsoft Outlook Support

MailSite has for a long time supported Microsoft Outlook for mail using IMAP or POP. MailSite Fusion brings the ability to keep calendar and contact data synchronized between Outlook and the server so that important data is available whether in Outlook or MailSite ExpressPro. Synchronization is simple and requires no administrator intervention or clumsy plugins to be installed on each client.

  • Manage the same mail, contacts and calendars from Outlook and a web browser
  • Simple, intuitive end-user setup
  • No Outlook plugins to install and maintain
  • Support for Outlook 2007

Flexible Contact Lists

MailSite ExpressPro provides support for legacy MailSite Express contacts and stores new contacts in the more powerful vCard format. Enterprise users will love the ability to see all contacts in their domain so that they have colleagues available at a mouse-click. Users can even choose to see anyone who has sent a mail currently in their Inbox. Contact lists can be automatically synchronized with Outlook.

  • Personal and shared contacts
  • Automatic synchronization of contacts with Outlook

AJAX Web Interface

Brand New MailSite ExpressPro

MailSite Fusion includes a totally new end-user web interface based on AJAX technology including the cutting edge ASP.NET AJAX framework. This state of the art web interface gives a desktop like look and feel making it a viable alternative to desktop clients such as Microsoft Outlook and Eudora. Message management is far more intuitive than in traditional webmail applications with drag and drop message filing and a desktop like folder tree.
MailSite ExpressPro supports multiple calendars whether stored within the MailSite database or externally. Contacts can be displayed from legacy MailSite Express accounts, those senders whose mail is currently in the Inbox, and other mailboxes on the same domain.

  • Cutting-edge web interface
  • Familiar desktop style look and feel
  • Powerful contact and calendar support

Easy Customization

MailSite ExpressPro has been designed to make customization as easy as possible. As well as configuration options, the architecture includes “themes” so that each installation can have its own look, changing graphics to match organizational needs. Changing colors, labels and buttons is easy without detailed technical knowledge. More extensive changes are simple for those with common web skills.

  • Easy yet powerful branding

Enhanced Anti Spam Functionality

Greylisting

MailSite now incorporates greylisting technology to help with the fight against spam. Greylisting uses a very simple feature of the existing SMTP protocol, namely that senders are required to retry if the receiving server will not accept a mail at this time. Modern spammers frequently rely on sending large volumes of mail before anti-spam technology has the chance to identify them as a threat.
With greylisting, each time a given mailbox receives an email from an unknown contact, that mail is rejected with a temporary failure, indicating that they should try again later. Many spammers will not retry, and those that do will be more likely to be trapped by RBLs or the spam engine as updates may have arrived by this time. Once the greylisting check has been passed, subsequent similar mails will be delivered without delay. For those end-users who prefer fast mail delivery for all mails, greylisting can be disabled.
As greylisting takes effect before the spam engine parses the message, CPU usage is typically reduced as many spam mails are never analyzed.

  • Improved spam catch rates
  • Configurable time periods
  • Provisioned at server, domain and mailbox levels
  • Reduced CPU usage
